Castle on the Moon painting

This painting was done for a woman who requested art with a Japanese castle and the moon. I looked at many gorgeous castles as reference. Adriayna’s main love is trees, so I wanted the whole image to be pulled together with the vines of a curling, reaching tree. Since I’ve put a building on the moon, how rude, I anchored it with that vine, reaching up from below. The background is layered acrylic paints on canvas. The castle and moon are glued on top of the paint. The vines and leaves are painted with oil paints on tissue paper and attached with gel medium. Enjoy!
